Even though the Lakers were in the lead with 116 points by the end of the third quarter, the Pacers didn’t give up and came really close to catching up in the last quarter by scoring 46 points! The game got super intense because the Lakers had to make sure they stayed ahead.
It was an amazing night for Spencer Dinwiddie who scored 26 points and for Austin Reaves who had 25 points. The team hadn’t scored this many points since a game back in 1987 – that’s like forever ago!
LeBron James was proud of how the Lakers played but knows they are really good at scoring. He mentioned the Pacers keep trying no matter what, making them tough competitors.
There was a moment towards the end when the Pacers’ very talented player Tyrese Haliburton scored two 3-point shots, and everyone held their breath because the Lakers’ lead dropped to just 3 points. But in the very end, the Lakers managed to hold on to their lead and win the game.
The coach of the Pacers wasn’t too happy about some of the referee calls, but he did say he was proud of his team for not giving up and fighting back even when it was really tough.
Pascal Siakam from the Pacers was amazing, especially in the third quarter where he scored 19 of his total 36 points. The Pacers now have to get ready for their next game as this is just one stop on their current road trip.
This basketball game was super important because the last time the Lakers and the Pacers met, the Lakers won a special tournament, but had some trouble winning games right after that. This time though, the Lakers showed they could do great even without one of their best shooters, D’Angelo Russell!
The Pacers tried to keep up with lots of energy, but Anthony Davis was just too good in the first part of the game. By the third quarter, the Lakers were doing their best scoring of the season, while Siakam was doing his best to help the Pacers stay in the game.
Oh, and guess what? The soccer team from Argentina was there watching! They’re getting ready for their own big game on Tuesday.
Next up, the Pacers will be playing another Los Angeles team, the Clippers, and the Lakers will be off to play in Milwaukee.
