Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is super tall and really good at basketball, scored 30 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (that’s a lot!). And guess what? Khris Middleton did something incredible too – he got a triple-double. That means he scored at least 10 points, got 10 rebounds, and made 10 assists. It’s like scoring a hat-trick in soccer, but in basketball! He hasn’t done that since way back in 2018.
Middleton and the team are super excited because they have a lot of great players. It’s like having lots of superheroes on the same team, and each one can save the day.
For the first time in a while, the Bucks had all their top players – Giannis, Middleton, and this really good player named Damian Lillard – play together. Plus, they had their favorite starting lineup, which includes some other cool players like Brook Lopez and Malik Beasley.
Middleton and Lillard couldn’t play for some games because they hurt their ankles, and Giannis was out too because his hamstring (a muscle in his leg) was bothering him. But now they’re all back!
Giannis shared that he’s really happy to have everyone healthy and playing together. Before, when someone was hurt, they kind of felt like they had an excuse if they didn’t do well. But not anymore!
The Bucks played a super game against the Oklahoma City Thunder and won 118-93 on Sunday. The Thunder usually score more and play better, but this time they couldn’t do it. Their star player, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, only scored 12 points. Usually, he scores a lot more!
Coach Daigneault from the Thunder said they didn’t play their usual fast and sharp game, and the Bucks made it tough for them.
The Bucks had 7 players who scored 10 points or more – that’s great teamwork! Antetokounmpo explained that when everyone plays together, no one has to do everything themselves. They have a super bench (that’s the players who start out sitting down during the game but can come in and help a lot). He thinks they just keep getting better.
A young player from the Thunder, Josh Giddey, scored 19 points, and another one, Jalen Williams, added 18 points. But the Bucks were just too strong, especially in the third quarter. That’s when they scored lots of points and the Thunder could hardly score at all.
There was a bit of a scare when Lu Dort from the Thunder got hit in the head, but don’t worry, he’s okay now.
